Our Story

Tom and Melody have lived in Carmel Valley and the Del Mar area for a long time, but never ran into each other. During their first date at Gaffney’s wine bar, Tom mentioned he was going to the Buick Invitational with his friend, Charlie. Coincidently, Melody also had tickets to go to the Buick with her girlfriend, Barb. When they all met up, it was a surprise to see Barb and Tom where old friends. It was funny that they had several opportunities to have met in the past, but never did. They now know that they were always meant to be together…it was just a matter of time!

Melody and Tom had a special tradition of going to Napa on Valentine’s Day. On Saturday, February 13th 2010, Tom and Melody arrived in Napa for their annual Napa trip. They enjoyed a special wine and chocolate event at Sequoia Grove winery and then went to their hotel to get ready for a special dinner at Ristorante Allegria. When they were about to leave, Tom wanted to give Melody her Valentine’s Day present. He gave her a beautiful key necklace…”the key to his heart”. He then gave her a beautiful Tiffany blue leather journal he had purchased in Paris for his “future wife”. He then got on one knee, with a ring in hand and asked Melody to marry him. Of course she said, “Yes!”
